WELCOME TO LINCOLNSHIRE FREEMASONRY
AND, THIS, THE WEB SITE OF THE PROVINCIAL GRAND LODGE
OF LINCOLNSHIRE.
It
contains all the information that was in our previous
site, but has also been extended, with many new areas
and we hope that, whether or not you are a Freemason,
you will find something of interest in this site. There
are some pages where information is being added as time
and research permits and others will be added as we see
an opportunity to show different aspects of our work.
By this open policy, we are seeking to overthrow the
erroneous image of secrecy which some perceive Freemasonry
to have. The very existence of this and many other such
web sites for Freemasonry, together with the ready availability
of books on Masonry and the opening to the public of Masonic
buildings, including the Grand Lodge in London, should
surely dispel this myth.
Freemasonry has existed for hundreds of years and has
many depths, so we cannot tell all there is to know in
the confines of these pages. However, most of what you
may wish to know of Freemasonry generally and, of this,
the Province of Lincolnshire in particular, you will find
here.
We are well known for our charitable works and support
not only the Grand Charities, but also help many local
causes within the Province. Here you will see what we
do in the name of Charity.
We instil in our members, to work hard, obey the laws
of the land, live peaceably and creditably and act honourably
- in other words to make good men better men.
In these pages you will find a host of information on
the various Masonic activities, which take place around
the Province of Lincolnshire, along with a list of links
to other Masonic Provinces and centres. We hope the information
will widen your appreciation and understanding of our
wonderful fraternity.
